Philippe el Sisi Joins the Evolved Family – #Evolutionaries

As 2013 gets well underway we move from strength-to-strength, with another massive addition to our roster. We see leading Egyptian light, Philippe el Sisi join the Evolved family.

Philippe made his name when he united with childhood friends Fadi Wassef and Aly Fathala, better known as the Egyptian trance duo Aly & Fila. Philippe’s debut E.P. ‘Witness/Never After’ was released in 2009 on Future Sounds of Egypt (F.S.O.E.). Philippe followed this up with a stunning breakthrough release, the inimitable ‘Humble’ once again on Armada Music’s sub-label F.S.O.E.

Philippe began to gain massive respect amongst his peers, leading to collaborations with leading vocalists Ana Criado, Josie, Senadee and Sue McLaren. His single ‘Over You’ feat. Josie and the remix for ‘Neev Kennedy ‘This Heart Is Yours’ have received massive support from all over the globe. Whilst his collaboration with ‘Aly & Fila feat. Senadee ‘Without You’ showcased the perfect match between these three Egyptian trancemasters. Philippe’s bootlegs of ‘Hans Zimmer ‘s ‘This Is Not The Best Time’ and Motorcycle’s ‘As The Rush Comes’ are two special bootlegs that will remain in DJ sets for years to come.

Philippe has continuously developed his passion for uplifting trance in the last five years, he is considered one of the leading lights on F.S.O.E. Label and rightly so. Almost 50 productions to his name already, consistent appearances on ‘A State of Trance’ and F.S.O.E. Compilations all complemented by his DJ sets across the world.

His rise in stature is a sentiment echoed by the best of the best, such as Armin van Buuren who has given Philippe near to 10 ‘Future Favourite’ spots which is a rare feat for the best of them and affirmation from the upper echeleons of the trance world, that Philippe el Sisi is destined for the top.

A little while after January and we’re just catching our breath from the amazing start to the year we and the artists have had. With so much to update you on, it will have you gasping for air from all the excitement in this jam-packed update

JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW TRIPLE SIGNING 

After an interesting first year (2012), which saw us begin with a huge roster (13+) of highly talented artists. We took a step back at the end of 2012 to assess what we had achieved so far and how we could look to improve things, with this in mind we took the steps to cut back our roster whilst recruiting three (3) fresh acts to complement the current artists we have in our family.

Fisherman & Hawkins (Isaac Vissers and Rob Koopmans) have already been in the ‘E.D.M’ (Electronic Dance Music) scene for a number of years. Late in 2011 Fisherman & Hawkins was born, they realised there was a great level of understanding between them combined with complementary production qualities, making it the natural step to form the now fast-rising duo.

This dynamic Dutch duo recently delivered the chart success ‘Apache’, gaining an impressive #2 position high in the Beatport Trance Chart. It was first received by the crowds of infamous ‘Scream’ release parties in Miami and New York, as well as Toronto’s ‘Labour of Love’, the response was resounding and can only be described as a ‘game-changer’.

A few months later the boys secured appearances on Markus Schulz’s ‘World Tour Best of 2012′ compilation and KhoMha’s ‘Coldharbour Presents’, as well as airing multiple times on Armin van Buuren’s  ‘A State of Trance’ radio show. Apache trail-blazed Prague’s Transmission in January, as well as expecting to receive massive support at the upcoming ASOT 600 events, having now been on rotation for 6-months in a host of the worlds most renowned DJ sets.

Tangle & Mateusz (Evan & Matt) begun as solo DJs/producers, before realising their  unique styles complemented one another in such a way, which has ultimately begun to make waves throughout the scene.

In late 2010, DJ’s Mateusz and Tangle decided to  collaborate on production projects after Mateusz had been supporting him on his weekly podcast, reaching over 390k people worldwide. The success of these projects and similar ambitions has now led to the beginnings of a refreshingly exciting duo.

They have already had success with a ream of productions on labels such as Be Yourself Music, Captivating Sounds, Enhanced Music and Lange Recordings. Firmly establishing their inimitable raw high-energy sound within the progressive house and trance scene whilst gaining support from notable peers such as Armin van Buuren, Gareth Emery and Sean Tyas.

Since breaking into the dance music scene back in 2006, Temple One (Joe Garrett) has established himself as one of the most respected artists in the scene. Continually delivering uplifting, melody driven music to listeners around the globe. His tracks and remixes continually find themselves in the playlists of the worlds best DJ’s, whilst also seeing them rank highly in the download charts and appearing on countless mix compilations from labels such as Ministry Of Sound and Sony BMG.

Having established himself as a mainstay on the highly respected Enhanced Recordings imprint since 2007, in that time he has released a plethora of hits including ‘Love The Fear’ featuring the anthemic vocals of Neev Kennedy, Aquamarine and World Beyond (‘DJ Mag ‘Money Shot’).

In 2012 Joe made a guest mix appearance on the Enhanced Music compilation alongside fellow Enhanced artist Estiva, all whilst managing to release his artist album titled ‘Perfect Ten’. Other works include a collaboration with German Trance star Jorn van Deynhoven on the A State of Trance imprint and a wealth of remixes for labels like Armada, Black Hole and Monster Tunes.

As a DJ, He’s performed at events such as Gatecrasher, Digital Society, Passion along with gigs and tours across Europe, Asia and USA.

Our artists have hit the ground running in 2013, with some results worthy shouting about;

 Fisherman & Hawkins ‘Apache’ [Coldharbour Recordings]

Our dynamic Dutch duo didn’t waste any time in making an impact, with the release of the mighty ‘Apache’ on 14th January. It is riding high in the Beatport Trance charts currently sitting at number ten (#10), but more impressively it went straight in at number two (#2) as well as making the Top 100 overall Beatport chart!

These chart positions were echoed by glowing write-ups from DJMag and Euphoric Magazine, DJMag scoring ‘Apache’ with an 8/10. No  doubt the ‘Apache Warriors’ have been out supporting the Fisherman & Hawkins cause.

Karanda ‘Hijinx/Stronghold’ E.P. [Enhanced Music]

The highly talented Karanda have arrived at full pace with this one, where some might ease themselves into the year these boys show no signs of letting up. This E.P. delivers a well-rounded offering;

Andy Duguid’s ‘After Dark Sessions #100′ Party in Poznan, Poland @ Club Eskulap

This marks another milestone for Andy, as he reaches a century (100) of episodes for his radio show ‘After Dark Sessions’. As he did for his half-century (50) of episodes, Andy will be hosting a party of epic proportions.

This time around Andy looks a little closer to home, with the party set to be hosted on mainland Europe in the Eastern nation of Poland in the city of Poznan. The event itself will be hosted at the renowned Klub Eskulap.

With Andy’s show becoming synonymous across the progressive house and trance scene, he has developed a loyal following of supporters aptly named ‘ADSHeads’, with the show regularly attracting more than 1 million listeners. If that wasn’t enough ‘After Dark Sessions’ also trends worldwide on micro-blogging site Twitter. Now that is what I call an army of ‘ADSHeads’!!!

All four of these brands focus on delivering quality of the highest standard, with a varying range of sounds from the more progressive leanings right through to the darker tech tinges of the trance spectrum.

The main room will offer a diverse range of talent from the progressive sounds of Ad Brown, cutting edge progressive trance from Shato & Paul Rockseek and Store N’ Forward. The second room now plays host to new emerging brand ‘Viral Trance’, kicking off their début event will signal the emergence of a new chapter in North-West trance. The guys at Viral look to deliver a host of home-grown names Robbie van Doe, Danny Mansfield and Michael Sheedy. If this wasn’t enough to satisfy your appetite, then Viral Trance boys John Gregory and Tom Kavanagh will add their own flavour to this feast. Followed by a helping from Dan Stone with his inimitable production style who has had nominal releases on the highly revered label Anjunabeats.

The third room will be whipped into a frenzy with a clash of three British based emerging brands Blueprint, Nu-Communicate and Vacate Music. The room is a show of support for emerging British based trance. Audien Update

In recent months this Conneticut born and raised prodigy has begun to see his profile increase, something we knew was always on the cards for Nate (Audien). The summer months have seen him support exciting names gigging across the US, including Ferry Corsten, Gabriel & Dresden, Jaytech, Michael Woods. Also several more gig dates lined up for the rest of the year including a warm up slot for Hardwell reinforcing that Audien is a name that is firmly on the ascent.

Whilst all this has been happening out on the road for Nate (Audien), he has still managed to squeeze in some studio time, with numerous releases lined up for the coming months all of those Audien fans old and new, can expect some tasty treats in store. One thing is for sure, you never know what to expect from this precocious talent whether it be funky prog-house, uplifting prog-trance or even the downright dirty dubstep/electro at such a young age he can turn his hand to anything.

The proof that he can turn his hand to anything, comes once again in the form of his latest upcoming release titled ‘Sup’ on the newly founded Armada sub-label ‘Trice Recordings’. His newest release premiered exclusively on Hardwell’s ‘On Air’ radio show with its release date due on 26th November, 2012.

Store N’ (Look) Forward to a Rosy Future

It was an inevitable use of pun for the headline to this story, once we had caught up with the boys themselves. After a 12 month period of relative success with a fresh cutting edge sound that straddles the lines of old trance (pre 2005) and new trance (post 2005), we can say that their new sound is truly beginning to take shape and 2013 promises to continue on what they have started in 2011/12.

The latest track ‘Roses’ has received the ‘A state of Trance’ radio show seal of approval, having featured on episode #586. This latest release delivers a dark yet liberating tech-tinged progressive trance sound that really stands out.

With numerous other originals finished and all lined up to go, we can see that 2013 is going to be a very exciting year for Store N’ Forward fans.  The German trance-masters will redefine the ever evolving trance scene, paving the way for a successful future that will firmly place them where they belong.

JOHNNY YONO LANDS

We haven’t had the chance to formally announce the landing of Johnny Yono, to our Evolved Artists family. He signed with us at the end of September, following on quickly from the addition of Andy Duguid offering our roster a dynamic kick up the metaphorical ass.

Johnny Yono is one of the bright burgeoning prospects from across the ocean, residing in L.A. where he works constantly on progressive trance tracks with a specific aim to create ‘club-friendly’ tracks, he is fast becoming renowned for a raunchy groove that makes his sound inimitable.

Johnny has enjoyed great success with hit single ‘Fairfax’ gaining support from heavyweights Armin van Buuren and Markus Schulz amongst others.

Urry Fefelove & Abramasi Return

After a quiet few months from the crazy yet precocious Russian duo, we see them return with another attack of punchy electro-trance that they have grown accustomed to. The new original is the first of a flurry of originals that they have been working on in the studio.

Their return will continue apace, teaming up with the likes of Anjunabeats star Cramp as well as several other high quality stand-a-lone originals on labels LiftedSounds and Re:Brand.

SHato & Paul Rockseek find Success

Another duo from the Eastern parts of Europe, have been hugely supported in the past but not as much as this time around. The new release ‘Found You’ has hit new heights, featuring most notably on world number one DJ Armin van Buuren’s radio show ‘A State of Trance’.

This new track departs from past sounds and really drives towards the progressive house and trance sounds of current, giving them a fresh edge and naturally becoming a ‘must play’ track for a lot of DJ’s in their sets. The most notable was Cosmic Gate’s set at the world renowned Ministry of Sound in London which was broadcast via Be-At.TV.

Fast Distance featuring Cami – Come Back Home

Our production whizz, Fast Distance returns to the fray with another collaboration with the angelic vocals of Cami. Once again why he is finding the perfect formula when teaming up with Cami. The collaboration delivers a driving trance style laced with electro synths and melodic piano keys complemented by the subtle vocal tones from Cami. A perfect escape from reality.

In Air Up There Recordings Fast Distance has found his new home and a place he can firmly build upon his already respected name and really begin to put his name where it belongs.

Say ‘Hello’ to Andy Duguid

Earlier on in the month we welcomed the highly talented Andy Duguid to our roster. Having been on a hiatus for the past year working on his third artist album, he felt the need for a change. Andy’s own aspirations fit with our desire to promote and support rising talent within the parameters of progressive house and trance, whilst also working collectively as a family to further the agency and all those involved in our long-term vision.

For those that need reminding, Andy has had massive success with two albums titled ‘Believe’ and ‘Miracle Moments’. This included the massive hits ‘Dont Belong’, ‘Wasted’, ‘Miracle Moments’, ‘To the Floor’ and ‘My Number’. The more recent of the two albums ‘Miracle Moments’ demonstrates the respect he commands from his peers, with appearances from Arty, Emma Hewitt, Estiva, George Acosta, Marcus Schossow, Marsbeing, Proff and many more.

In addition to having already achieved all this in his career, he is the proud host of his very own radio show ‘After Dark Sessions’. The radio show is continuously growing and reaching new listeners in all corners of the globe and regularly worldwide trending on Twitter.

Electronic Architects is Born

Recently we hosted our first artist showcase, the launch party went down a storm leaving those that attended with a lasting memory of what the ‘Electronic Architects’ concept will embody for future events to come.

We kicked things off with an event at the infamous Stinky’s Peephouse in Leeds, UK. The ultimate aim was to provide a mammoth ten hour event that began at 9pm and closed at 7am with a sole focus on quality sounds from the finest talent across the progressive house and trance spectrum.

The highlights of our launch party came in the form of our very own Karanda, they played some of their current hits, upcoming releases and some of the biggest tracks right now. The end result was an edgy yet vibrant progressive trance set warming things up perfectly, in anticipation of the headline acts Dennis Sheperd Vs Talla 2XLC. These two German trance heavyweights followed straight after with a ‘big room’ back to back set that included their massive club hit ‘Two Worlds’ and some exclusive new material from Dennis. Then the coup de grace came in the form of Myon & Shane 54, whipping up the crowd into a frenzy with their inimitable festival fuelled sets packed full of ‘feel good’ tracks and trademark mash-ups.

Also personal proud moments for our agency came when our very own Tribunal Aura stepped in at last minute to play in the main room following on from Myon & Shane 54, showing their maturity behind the decks they have come a long way in such a short space of time, congratulations.

Lastly we just want to thank everyone involved with this momentous launch party, from the venue owners, the door staff, our driver Sam, our box office dynamo Esther, In2Trance media for their continued promotion and support, all of the artists involved who travelled from far and wide and most importantly Cancer Research UK for allowing us to bring this altogether for such a worthy cause.
